Summer ’15 has been a big one for us, as we were able to secure a new official chapter house on campus in only under 2 years since being rechartered, further proving to be one of the faster growing and prominent fraternities on campus. This is a huge triumph for us, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of the Epsilon-Zeta chapter from UConn. Their alumni Wes Olesen (current Alumni Advisor) and Jonathan Piazza-Harper (President of Kappa Sigma Housing Corporation of MA) worked tirelessly to help us obtain the new house. Gamma-Delta appreciates your diligence and cooperation and we are forever thankful.
Miss Kappa Sigma was a resounding success this year! We are pleased to announce that $800 was raised for Baystate Children’s Hospital. Also, $100 was donated to Safe Passage on behalf of Nicole Kamal and $500 was donated to the Make A Wish Foundation on behalf of Miss Kappa Sigma 2015, Kellie DiBiccari. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success with a total of $1400 donated.
On October 24, 2014 the brothers of Gamma-Delta guided the pledges up Mt. Sugarloaf in Deerfield, MA in order to have our final retreat of the pledge program. During this retreat we helped one another up the mountain, as our Brother’s Keepers, and delivered a final oral exam about the history and significance of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity as well as our core values. After we descended the mountain together, it became clear that this was one of everyone’s favorite events during the pledge process – one that we at Gamma-Delta are proud to call a chapter tradition.
This year we hustled our way to the top during the Umass Amherst Greek Week games and brought home the gold for the Red Team in flag football. A huge congratulations to brothers Will Gotsch, Dylan LoBue, Roma Naumov, Iany Martins, Ryan Slack, Will Purdue, Hayden Grahl, Dan Bonkowski, Mike Greenblatt, Tommy Maguire, Andrew Vinciguerra, Samad Khan, and Nick Kioussis on winning the Greek Week flag football championship game for Kappa Sig!
